The drought in Texas continues and despite getting some rain we are, here in Canyon Lake, over 5" behind the YTD average on top of being far behind what we would have gotten over the past few years. The lake is still very very low - it's only 46% full and the last time it was at this level was in the 1960's. Those in the know say it will take a few years of average rain to get it full unless we have a MASSIVE rain storm and then it could fill within a few months.
I have FINALLY finished cleaning the house and I am currently working on the purging of stuff, again room by room. No, I am not spending all day doing it, which, would get it done in about 2 weeks. I a do some purging and then record what is being donated to Goodwill or Habitat or even friends. When that's done I go play in the studio and watch movies or other TV in the evening. I do hope to finish this before school starts at the end of August but if, that's OK because I would assume there wouldn't be much left to do.
Last week I purged vacation pictures by tossing general scenery pictures; if it did not have either or both of us it was tossed. I decided to do this because my sister and I spend daaayyyysss going through thousands (at least) of slides when my parents passed and I figured I would say my heirs from doing this. I am also starting to purge art stuff. I had to buy supplies for classes and some I won't use again or never used at all. There are crafts I tried and don't do anymore so those supplies are being purged as well. I also have craft books I have collected over the years that I no longer use or do or need. All of this will be taken to an Art/Craft Re-Sale store in Austin where I can get a donation letter and even shop, at a discount, for other things I do not need. Along the way I am putting larger items for sale on eBay. The small 8 shaft folding table loom, warp yarn, even fancy serving dishes I don't use.
I think you get the picture. Here's a picture from a HOADER's house - IT isn't mine.
