Last year, at the start of 2014 I gave up weaving to concentrate on my metal work.
I handed my loom over to Randee and she finished the rep weave I had been working on for what seems forever. And how has it been??? Well to be honest, I have not really missed it that much. I still get my weaving magazine and look at the projects wistfully but I don't really miss it. And now, one year later, I think it was a good thing for me to do. I still have my folding tabletop 16 shaft loom, a rigid heddel loom, several pin looms, and gobs of weaving yarn. I have contemplated selling it all but I figure that when I retire in about 5 years I will have a bit more time and can fit it back into my schedule. Over this past year, I have not done that much knitting either. I started a few projects and there they sit, as well. Oh, well - maybe this year. Off to work in the metal studio. |
