Last year I was working in San Diego during the convention but had not planned enough in advance to get tickets so obviously I did not go.
This year I did get a Sunday ticket and other co-workers had 4 day passes or one day passes for Thursday or Fridays. Only Lisa also had a pass for Sunday so we did go together.
I had been thinking of Cosplaying Lady Olenna Tyrell from Game of Thrones but never had the time to assemble a costume. So I went as plain old geeky me.
We started the day with a writers panel and spent some time talking to author David Brin which was great but the Winner Twins I was not impressed with. Let's just say I thought I was getting cavities when they talked. David on the other hand, in our pre-panel converstation talked about how you must "write at least 5 hours per week" to get good at the craft while the day job provides the money. This really stuck home for me as this is what I try to do with my metalsmithing.
After that we wandered the floor. I got some good T-Shirts especially the Cowthulhu one plus a Cthulhu ring, Linda got some books and a few other things.
Then we headed off to the Star Ship Smack Down panel.
This past week and only one week after Comic-Con 2015 Lisa and I are actually planning out cosplay outfits for next year. We have tossed around some ideas and have selected a theme. Since there maybe 4 of us, now building our back story. Stay tuned for more will be revealed as we progress.
