This weekend, yup both Saturday and Sunday will be the Vista Fiber Arts Fiesta. This is the second year for the event - and mine too, as I only joined "the barn" in August of 2011 and in the two years I have been weaving at the barn, my skills, knowledge and confidence of the craft has grown immensely. And let's not forget the wonderful people and friends I have come to know.
I have been setting up Rep Weave project for the past few months so I will be at the barn working on that. I still have to set up the treadles and tie the warp onto the front beam but I do expect to be actually weaving at some point this weekend.
And ladies, if you significant other hems and haws at being dragged along, the Vista Gem & Mineral Society annual show is also happening this weekend so there is stuff for the entire family going on.
The Fiesta will take place October 13-14, 2012 at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, 2040 North Santa Fe Ave, Vista, CA. Hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Here’s a link to the AGSEM page with map and directions.
